Tim Fry appointed to complaint panel
Earlier this year Peverel Retirement changed its complaints procedure to include a complaint panel at the second stage of an escalated complaint. The panel represents the final review stage that will be undertaken by Peverel Retirement before a complaint is referred externally.
To confirm the recent notice board message to all residents and article in Life&Style, the panel comprises Keith Edgar, Managing Director, Sandra Barton, Legal Services Manager and an independent lay member, Tim Fry.
Tim was recently appointed to the panel having spent his early career with the National Audit Office (NAO) before taking retirement in 2009. As a senior manager at the NAO he led teams undertaking value for money investigations into a wide range of government activities, including the NHS, and aspects of education and employment. Tim had specific responsibility for investigations that looked at services provided directly to the public. Some of the investigations arose from complaints made by members of the public, and included a review of complaints procedures, for example, in the NHS.
Since 2006 Tim has been a magistrate in London, and sits in both adult and youth courts, and hears appeals in the Crown Court. He was made a chair magistrate this year.
Tim has considerable personal experience of the leasehold property market, both as a leaseholder and as a director and (subsequently) chair of the residents' company which managed a large leasehold property development in London. A significant part of this role included liaison with the managing agents and dealing with residents’ complaints.
