Our core team comprises experienced House Managers, Estate Managers, Area Managers and Regional Managers, many of whom have worked with us for a considerable length of time.
House Managers
House Managers are the members of staff working at developments who have day-to-day management responsibility for delivering the service for residents.
The role of a House Manager is to effectively and professionally manage the development while providing a welcoming, safe, secure and well maintained environment for residents.
We select House Managers with the following qualities:

- Experienced in working with the public
- Professional and business-like in their appearance
We look to House Managers to enhance residents’ quality of life, by helping to create a warm and friendly environment and by taking away any concerns the residents may have.

Area Managers
Area Managers have a responsibility to support House Managers in their day-to-day activities and to liaise with residents when necessary to ensure they are always happy with the service provided.
The role of Area Manager for Peverel Retirement is multi- faceted. They are responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of properties as well as supporting and supervising the House Managers at each site to provide the best possible service for residents.
Area Managers are responsible for:
- Management of development budgets and monitoring of expenditure
- Consultation with residents and residents’ associations
- Review and explanation of the annual accounts
- Securing agreement for the budget and service charge for the forthcoming year
- Management of major works and liaison with contractors
- Staff recruitment, induction and ongoing training
- Management of staff performance
Our commitment to you:
Your Area Manager will visit your development once every eight weeks to carry out Site Audits, Fire Audits and Health and Safety Audits. They will maintain contact with residents, replying to correspondence promptly and visiting them on site where appropriate.

Regional Managers
Regional Managers ensure consistently high standards of quality of service through the management of the field-based teams and liaising with residents at resident forums.
Regional Managers look after a team of Area Managers and House Managers and therefore need strong leadership skills as well as good interpersonal and finance skills.
Regional Managers are responsible for:
- Providing ongoing training and support to the Area Managers
- Dealing with resident issues
- Conducting general meetings with residents
- Attending House Manager conferences with Area Managers
- Resolving issues on developments where properties are still being sold
- Attend meetings with the Association of Retirement Housing Managers
The role is a challenging one, with no two days the same. Ultimately, the Regional Manager can make a major contribution to ensuring that a retirement development is successful and that residents are happy with the service they receive.
